Project Overview

The Secret of Pyramids is a cinematic adventure set in the epic grandeur of ancient Egypt. Roam grand cities, decipher hieroglyphic puzzles, and uncover the stories of lost dynasties.

The demo lays the foundation for a larger narrative with mythological twists, light RPG systems, and time-travel storytelling—aiming to be the most visually stunning and culturally rich Egyptian game to date.

Game Vision Highlights

  • Striking visuals inspired by ancient architecture and material culture
  • Immersive narrative quests, secrets, and hieroglyph puzzles
  • Dynamic weather and a simulated Nile ecosystem
  • Playable on PC with full controller & keyboard support
  • Future expansions: multiplayer and historical events mode
Unity 6 Overview

Execution

Systems & implementation

  • Quest & narrative: graph-based quest states, codex/lore entries, and diegetic UI prompts.
  • Puzzle kit: hieroglyph decoding, pressure plates, mirror-light routing, and scripted set pieces.
  • World simulation: Nile water levels, day/night cycles, heat haze & sandstorms with URP VFX.
  • Traversal & input: third-person controller, climb/ledge rules, and controller/keyboard remapping.
  • Art direction: calibrated PBR materials, baked lighting where possible, volumetrics for temples.

Results

Measurable outcomes (to update after demo):

  • Performance (PC): median FPS ≈ 90 at target settings.
  • Stability: crash-free sessions 99.6%; GPU frame ≈ 7.8ms.
  • Puzzle readability: first-attempt success rate ≈ 63%.
  • Engagement: median session length ≈ 16.2 min.

Before → After

Before: noisy interiors with heavy overdraw. After: baked lights + proxy volumes → GPU frame ↓ 24% and cleaner silhouettes.
